An Exhausted Weekend
Now that I have 3 jobs, 1 full-time, 1 part-time, and my own business, “weekend” becomes “weekendless”. Weekend’s work is even more demanding than weekday’s, maybe it’s because my body is already tired after a week’s work.
Besides using my brain, weekend’s to-do list is usually more physically demanding. Regular errands like grocery shopping, since the grocery store in this neighborhood is the most expensive one among all other supermarket chains in the city (I’m not talking about a few cents difference, the price difference can be measured by dollars, which is ridiculous), so in order to complete my grocery shopping for the week, I have to run to different stores that are far away. And for laundry, I have to carry the heavy laundry bag to another building where the laundry room locates. Well, I guess these could be other reasons for me to move again, besides the people I live with now.
Speaking of moving, this weekend, on top of the regular errands, it’s the tiring apartment hunting. However, I was actually surprised to discover that apartment hunting sometimes could be a good way to explore the city, especially neighborhoods that you’re not familiar with. For example, one of the apartments I visited yesterday is located in a street in the middle of downtown Montreal, although surrounded by tall commercial buildings, the street is very long, quiet and beautiful with big trees on both sides and old Victorian houses. I would have never expected to see something like this in this part of downtown, and I wish I had taken some pictures, but it was raining hard and I didn’t have an umbrella.
So, I’m totally exhausted now, at 12: 11 a.m., Monday morning, but I still haven’t gotten everything done, and in less than 8 hours, I’ll have to go to work again…
